Former Ghana U-23 captain Michael Helegbe has moved to Belgium after quitting his French second division side Guingamp.

The 23-year-old midfielder signed one-year contract with Belgian second division club Oostende.
Helegbe will extend his contract with his new employer for a further year if he impresses in his first season at the club. The former Liberty Professionals player endured a torrid time at Guingamp as he could only manage 25 appearances at the club for two seasons.
The French club were expected to offload him but he was saved as his performances seem to have impressed the Belgians.

His main task at Oostende is to help them to qualify for the country’s top-flight league.
This is Helegbe third European club after spending time with Norwegian side Brann in 2005.
