Government presents bikes to K’dua Health Service
The Eastern Regional Minister, Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, on behalf of the government has presented three hundred and fifty motor-bikes estimated at the cost of five hundred thousand dollars to the Ghana Health Service in Koforidua.
Mr. Ofosu Ampofo said, the motor-bikes are meant to facilitate quality health delivery at the door step of the people. He said the presentation will help health personnel who will undertake the immunization exercise against the six child hood killer diseases this week to reach out to more children in the rural communities.
Mr. Ofosu Ampofo hoped that the provision of the motor-bikes will also help health personnel in the Region to carry out effective education not only on the importance of immunization against the six killer diseases but also about the dangers of the HIV/AIDS pandemic.
The Eastern Regional Director of the Ghana Health Service, Dr. Erasmus Agongo, who received the motor-bikes, said they will be distributed to the various health centres within the districts of the Region. He said the bikes will help municipal health workers to carry out their work efficiently.
Dr. Agongo thanked the government for the support and appealed for more vehicles to help his outfit to deliver quality health services to the people.
