Koforidua records 152 cases of diarrhoea
The Koforidua Central Hospital have within four days recorded one hundred and fifty-two cases of diarrhoea One hundred and sixteen out of the victims have been treated and discharged.
while the remaining thirty-six have been detained and are currently responding to treatment.
The Director of the Hospital, Dr. Obeng Apori, disclosed this in an interview. According to him, the outbreak of the diarrhoea was traced to a food vending source in Koforidua.
Mr. Apori said the cause of the food poisoning is being investigated and an Emergency Response Team has been set up to enforce a law to ensure that the vendor does not sell food again.
He cautioned food producers and vendors to ensure that their products are wholesome for consumption.
