Young striker Mahatma Otoo, signed from Sporting Mirren, got the only goal of the match early in the second half after speedster Dong Bortey had done all the work.

This time around, Hearts paraded a more experienced side made up of old and new players. And this paved the way for the Phobians to win their first match of the season though Bashiru Hayford’s side were a delight to watch.

Indeed, Egyptian coach of the team would be full of joy as he has won his first game after losing the first two matches of this year’s Glo Premiership.

As usual, goalkeeper Philemon McCarty was in post with defenders Maxwell Mensah formerly of Liberty, Tetteh Nortey, Osei Bonsu and Karimu Alhassan playing at the rear with Theophilus Akpoh, Esme Mends and Obed Ansah playing in midfield, leaving Dong Bortey, Gawu and Affum upfront. Douglas Nkrumah and Charles Taylor came on as substitutes in the second half.

At Obuasi, the top liner between Ashgold and Kotoko ended 1-1. Both sides played a determined game but it was the Aboakese lads who shot ahead before Ani Adjei got the equalizer for Kotoko. Ashgold now move top of the premiership after winning their first two matches.

Elsewhere, Francis Aggrey Mboma got the only goal of the game for Berekum Arsenals who also won their first match of the season by beating Wa All Stars at the Berekum Golden City Park .
