Bernard Dong Bortey has signed a two-year deal with Accra Hearts of Oak.

A cash amount of GH¢25,000 was involved in the transaction between the two parties, helping Bortey to re-unite with the club which helped him to display his talents.

Bortey was instrumental in the Hearts squad that won the CAF Confederations in the 2004.

The intelligent player, who is noted for his sublime free kicks, recently returned home after a short and unsuccessful spell in Israel.

The player featured for Hearts in the just ended MTN Top Four tournament and scored a sublime free-kick against arch rivals, Kotoko, in Kumasi.

In a related development, GUIDE SPORTS has gathered that prolific striker, Eric Gawu has extended his stay with the Phobians for two more seasons.

“Hearts offered GH¢20,000 before Gawu appended his signature to the agreement. The management has paid GH¢10,000 of the amount and would settle the rest later,” a source noted.

Gawu, who is noted for his speed, joined Hearts from Kumasi-based club, King Faisal about two seasons ago.
